 Jeff Houser

After 7 years a member of Canada's National Kayak Team, Jeff (an exercise physiologist) turned his hand to coaching. In 1991, after a year as Headcoach at Mic Mac AAC in Nova Scotia, rival club Banook came calling. In just 2 years, Jeff lead Banook to it's first and only (so far) CCA Burgee for the overall Canadian Championship in the clubs now 97 year history, and in the same year to the Canadian Masters Title!. For his efforts, Jeff's athletes were named Team of the Year for Nova Scotia in 1992, and again in 1993. In 1995 Jeff took over from Tony Hall as Nova Scotia coach, and then joined Tony in Georgia as coach of the Lanier Canoe and Kayak Club helping lead the club to it's two USACK Titles in 1999 and 2000.

Jeff is sought out for his technical skill, and and complete understanding sprint racing. Whether you are looking for training or technical instruction at the Olympic level, or simply trying to get upright in a sprint boat, Jeff is the coach you need on your side.

Jeff has been involved in coaching education for several years, and is a past president of the Canadian Association of Coaches in Canoe and Kayak. His athletes have represented their countries in Sprint and Marathon, and Jeff acted as coach of the 2000 and 2001 Canadian Marathon Canoe Teams.

Currently, Jeff is the Regional High Performance Coach for the Atlantic Division, CanoeKayak Canada.
